Willie Fields, Jr., a resident of 1144 Evergreen Ave., was called to be with our Heavenly Father on Father's Day, June 21, 2009. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, 1553 East 21st St., Rev. John Devoe,Jr., Pastor.

He began his career as a pastry chef at A&P Bakery and later retired from Beaver Street Fisheries after many years of dedicated service.

He was preceded in death by parents, Leola and Willie Fields and siblings; George Fields, Samuel Walker, Dorothy Jackson and Lillian King. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his soul-mate and wife of 50 years, Mary Fields; one son, Frederick Fields (Deanna), six daughters, Darlene Williams (Silas), Susan Seabrooks (Robert), Bernadette Baker (John), Claudia West (Roderick), Stephanie Williams and Crystal Fields. He will be dearly missed by brothers, Robert, Rufus Sr., Charles,Eddie, Cheyenne and Johnny Fields, Roscoe Kilpatrick; sisters, Delinda Wright, Dorothy Smith, Mattie Allen, Marion Darisaw, Gladys Brown and Marion Davidson; fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, God-son, Tony Bennett, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
