Julius Mathis Jr., a resident of East Jacksonville, passed away December 9, 2008. He was a member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, 1880 W. Edgewood Ave., Dr. Landon L. Williams,Sr., Pastor. He was a member of JILAR.

Survivors include: wife, Grace Mathis; nine children, Charles Mathis (Doris), Washington,DC, Lorene Stovall-Bates (Mitchell)Loretha Mathis, Miami, FL., Julius Mathis III (Ethel), Beverly Moore (Byron), Robert Mathis (Juana), Jacqueline Mathis, Anthony Mathis Sr. (Marilyn) and James Mathis; 30 grandchildren; 11 great grands; two sisters, Cora Gatlin, Lakeland, FL and Shirley Munford, Atlanta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Orine Wilkerson and Alvena Starks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
