Mother Janie Burke made her transition into eternal life on her 90th birthday, April 14, 2008. Upon recognizing the call from God and discovering the prophetic gift of the spirit that was bestowed upon her, she founded and organized True Bind Church of God on Jacksonville's Northside. Her church grew from just an idea from God, to a building and many outreach ministries within.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, brother, Rev. Simmie Harvey (Marion), cousin raised as her sister, Berthola Ross-Johnson; children, Pastor Martina Newell and Everlena King; 26 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces,nephews,cousins, God-children, devoted friend, Mrs. Doris Collins and many sorrowing friends.
