MS. SHANQUETTA JANA' "ANGEL BUG" SANKS
The funeral service for Shanquetta Sanks, 26, of Salem, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m. (CST) Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Ferguson Chapel C.M.E. Church in Opelika, AL, with burial in Salem Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Rev. Kendra Jacobs will officiate. Ms. Sanks, who passed away Friday, September 11, 2009, at the East Alabama Medical Center, was born in Lee County, Alabama.
She was a graduate of Smiths Station High School Class of 2001 she also attended Southern Union State Community College and South University. Ms. Sanks was employed with Target Stores in Opelika, AL and was a faithful member of Salem Chapel A.M. E. Church.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, September 16, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish one daughter: Xyliah "Strawberry Liah" Sanks of Salem, AL; loving parents: Bobby and Jeanette Sanks of Salem, AL; one sister: Quaneshia "Nique" Sanks of Salem, AL; grandmothers: Mable "G.G." Thomas, and Mary Sanks Kelly, both of Salem, AL; grandfathers, Nolan Stringer of Salem AL and Willie A. Thomas of Detriot, MI; six aunts, Gloria (Rev. James) Owens of Auburn, AL, Barbara "Aunt B" Thomas, Gloria Ann Thomas both of Salem, AL, Rebecca Hollaway of Lafayette, AL, Mildred Moore of Columbia, SC, Betty Knight of Opelika, AL; four uncles: Otis Edwards, Milton (Alice) Edwards both of Opelika, AL, Donnie Sanks, David (Qwendolyn) Sanks both of Columbus, GA; great-aunts: Dorthy Nell Brown of Columbus, GA, Myrtis (Bill) Williams of Petersburg, VA, Curtis Jean Williams of Salem AL, Beluah Wilson of Columbus, GA, Hattie Graham of Salem, AL, Mattie Pearl Graham of Phenix City, AL, Catherine Graham of Birmingham, AL, one great-uncle, Royce Matthews of Salem, AL, one great-great aunt: Bobbie Nell (Elnore) Simpson of Dayton, OH; special friend, Wendell Matthews of Auburn, AL; a host of other relatives and special friends.
