Mrs.
Ella L. Elliott, a longtime resident of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully
August 8, 2007. Mrs. Elliott was affectionately known as "Sam". She was a native
of Starke, Florida. Mrs. Elliott was born on May 25, 1916 to the late Joseph and
Eliza Morris. Mrs. Elliott attended the local schools in Starke, Florida. After
moving to Jacksonville, she became a faithful member of Greater New Hope A.M.E.
Church. She was a teacher and Superintendent of the Sunday School, a member of
the choir, Trustee Board, a Missionary Emeritus and recipient of the Silver
Sister Women Missionary Society in 2005. Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by
her husbands, Mr. Robert Elliott and Mr. Clarence Ellerson; brothers, Ivory, Joe
and Hembrick Morris; sisters, Johnnie Mae Morris, Flossie Mitchell and Rebaner
Clark; grandson, Glenn F. Morris;
She will be greatly missed by her son, Willie Morris (Evelyn); grandson, Steven Morris (Regina); brothers, Theodore and Everett Morris (Leola), Starke, FL; great grands, Ashley Morris, Malik Morris, Maya Morris, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
