Cody Jahjuan Spivey, was born on November 28, 1982 to Larry and Janice Handy. He was a native of Jacksonville, Florida. He received his education at Jean Ribault Senior High School.

Cody was employed by Flowers Baking Company. He was a member of Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Steve T. Wilson, Jr.

He was well known in his community for all his many acts of kindness to all who came in contact with him. He was one of the founding members of the group YTS.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted parents, Janice S. and Larry Handy; children, Coddy, Tryia and Kourtney Spivey; 2 sisters, Dahlahl R. Steele and Robertah Spivey; grandmothers, Bernice Spivey and Shirley Dennis; aunts and uncles, Clinton Thomas of Anchorage, Arkansas, Eddie (Rosa) Spivey of Dothan, Alabama, Robbie Daniels, Denese Thomas, Debbie Reynolds, Brenda (Robert) Nelson, Dionne Handy, Johnnie (Janet) Handy, of Alexandria, Virginia, Michelle (Rick) Gamble; 3 nieces, Jah’Naye, ArJah’Naye and Kylie; 2 nephews, Emerson and Cody; godmothers, Fareedah Jones and Shirley Thomas; great grandmothers, Bobbie L. Woodham and Florine Handy ; cousins, Lukecia, Kawanza, Shawn, Robert, Danielle, Rahkeisha, Edward and Jahlayne; mothers of his children, Talesha Presley and Krishawn Mobley; special friends, Stephanie Stevens, Katie, Katia, Resean James, Louis Pierce, Shawn Champion, Maynard and the many coworkers at Flowers Bakery.
