Calvin Hill, a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, was born to the union of the late Sgt. Waverly James Hill and Betty Jean Johnson Hill on May 5, 1953. He made his transition into eternal life on Wednesday, June 24, 2009. A graduate of Lawson State College and a Master Mason of the Acacia 248 Masonic Lodge, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Calvin served our country for 5 years in the United States Navy. While becoming well versed in his occupational field where he received numerous training certifications, Calvin was employed with SERMC, Mayport, Florida.

Calvin was preceded in death by his father, Sgt. Waverly James Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Glenna (Wynn) Hill; four children, Christopher, Timothy, Marcus and Calteesha; a loving and devoted mother, Betty Jean Johnson-Hill, Mobile, Alabama; ten siblings, Betty (Robert) Underwood, Birmingham, Alabama, Velma (Irving) Long, Mobile, Alabama, Waverly (Dorothy) Hill, California, Willie Hill, New Orleans, Louisiana, Charlie (Gwen) Hill, Birmingham, Alabama, Judy M. Hart, Carlesia Y. Smith, Elder Annette Hill Young, all of Mobile, Alabama, David (Rosalyn) Hill, St. Petersburg, Florida; James Hill, Arizona; Mrs. Mattie M. Cook and Family, of Mobile, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, additional family members and friends.
